Los Altos High Science Olympiad

Our Impact

Our goals go beyond medals and rankings. We want to build a science community that grows through curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving. That includes supporting fellow teammates while also giving back to the larger science community.

One way we do that is through our summer training program and coaching for Bullis Charter School and Egan Junior High School. Los Altos High students lead sessions in study events, lab skills, and build events, giving younger students the chance to experience SciOly. Throughout the year, we were able to reach over 100 middle school students!

We also host an annual invitational tournament organized by our team members. Last year, we brought together more than 50 schools from across the country. Running these events takes a lot of work, from setup and test writing to proctoring and grading, but it gives teams the chance to compete on high-quality tests and builds before regionals and states.

Through Science Olympiad, Los Altos High students not only gain meaningful experience in their scientific interests, but also grow as individuals, building character and surrounding themselves with equally motivated peers.
